History
Georgetown Masters is one of the most successful and respected facilities in the mastering business. Founded by legendary mastering engineer Denny Purcell, producer/bass player Norbert Putnam and record label president Ron Bledsoe in 1984, the facility has mastered as much as 50% of the country charts, 50% of the inspirational charts and 20% of the pop charts at any given time. The current Georgetown staff is headed by Purcell's chosen successor and apprentice, Andrew Mendelson, who Purcell acquired from the renowned audiophile label Telarc. Under Mendelson's direction the studio continued to excel, garnering its place on Billboard Magazine's coveted list of "Studios at the Top" in both 2002 & 2003.
